Jobs at Balsamiq and what it’s like to work there.

Balsamiq is the wireframing tool (and team) that helps lean product teams turn early ideas into clear, actionable direction—fast. You don't need to be a designer to use it.

Mission

The fastest path to building the right thing.

How they work

Balsamiq is globally distributed and fully remote. The team emphasizes simplicity, clear communication, and minimizing meetings, and they use a documented playbook to keep everyone aligned. See the playbook for more detail.

No matter where people are working from, the team overlaps for at least one hour each day — the 'golden hour' (for example, 5-6 pm in Italy and 8-9 am in California).

Work is primarily asynchronous: the team designs and visualizes in Balsamiq, documents decisions in Confluence (the company wiki), and holds most conversations in Slack. They use social channels, project-specific channels, and learning channels, and follow standard naming conventions (for example, project channels start with #p_).

Standard workflows include a company-built tool called Acetaia for high-level project management with weekly status updates by project leads; engineering work lives in Jira and is reviewed weekly. The company runs on the EOS operating system to keep priorities and meetings focused — see EOS.
